The El Dorado Springs Bulldogs and Pierce City Eagles have done battle plenty of times on the court and the baseball field given their locations. However, on Wednesday they battled it out on the links at Honey Creek Golf Course in Aurora. There was a unique situation as the players only played 12 holes on the front 9 due to flooding from recent weather effecting holes 10-18. Pierce City senior Ashton Medlin and junior Tyler Johnson battled for the lead but Medlin ended up taking home the first place medal shooting 49 while Johnson finished 2nd just behind him at 53. ELDO dominated as a team taking the team plaque home shooting a 241 thanks to seniors Auston Smith and Devun Salazar shooting 54 and 58 good for 5th and 6th overall. Aurora was playing on their home course and they came ready to play shooting 247 as a team. Luke Stellwagen, Sage Welch and Dalton Briscoe all finished in the top 10 as Stellwagen finished 8th overall shooting 59. Welch was right behind him at 9th shooting a 60 and Briscoe tied with Clever’s Logan Jenkins for 10th shooting a 61.
