After a strong summer competing for Yanders Law, Glendale 2018 guard Jordan Walton is gearing up for a big senior season for the Falcons.
He burst on the scene four years ago for Glendale and has become a fixture in area basketball ever since. A savvy point guard with a nice handle, Walton knows how to get his teammates involved as well as create his own shot.
He said playing alongside Glendale teammates Monty Johal and Garrett Freeman throughout the offseason for Yanders Law was a fun and unique experience.
“My summer was great,” he said. “I played really well with Yanders Law. I worked a lot on my footwork and explosiveness as well as dribbling and shooting.”
Walton does not currently hold any offers but has drawn interest from Bucknell, Eastern Illinois, SIU-E, SIU, Drake and Northern Illinois.
“This season is going to be great, we have a lot of seniors and we have played with each other for a long time. Our goal is to win districts and advance deep in the state tournament.”
A fan of Kyrie Irving and Lonzo Ball, Walton says he has tried to take elements of both players’ game and make it his own.
“I like Kyrie’s handle and mentality,” he said. “Lonzo’s leadership and passing is something I try to implicate.”
