Lillian Mindeman RUSH
Lillian is a high effort two way player that really turned some heads day one. She is extremely smart with the ball and is often looking for the open teammate. This really shined in the skill work with coach Kyran. She has already made a name for herself with RUSH’s younger teams but be ready for her to really pop off this year.
Carolina Crawford Willard
Crawford showed that she is more than just a spot up shooter this weekend as she excelled off the dribble and really improved her game on the defensive side of the ball. She has a high basketball IQ and a bit of a funky looking shot but she is a tremendous shooter reaching the finals in the three point contest. Willard will be looking for some answers after graduating a good class last year but the duo of Crawford and Kailyn Washington is a tremendous start.
Kailyn Washington Willard
Kailyn is a defensive game changer. Her perimeter defense was causing fits all weekend long. She jumps passing lanes and in a game, situation would lead to a ton of transition points. Offensively she is very skilled and a polished shooter. She really shined day two during 2v2 drills when she was paired with fellow Willard teammate Carolina Crawford. Kailyn is poised to have a great season for the Lady Tigers.
Lexie Raustadt Southwest
Lexie is as physical as they come. She is scrappy in the paint and despite not being very big in stature, she can bang down low with the best of them. Lexie will have a great opportunity to play a big part in the success of Southwest this season.
Lucy Newberry Marionville
Lucy is a lethal threat beyond the arc. She proved this in the three point barrage she had in the contest leading both rounds and hit 8 in the championship round for the win. What has me excited about Newberry is she has room to grow as a shooter. If she can gain the confidence to be ready to catch and shoot, she will become a lethal threat in the SWC and SWMO.
Ireland Jones Clever
Ireland is an elite scorer. She can get it done on all three levels but where she becomes elite is her downhill driving ability. Once she gets going, she finds a way to put the ball in the hoop. However, her most valuable skill I believe is her leadership ability. Her teammates like to look at her when times get difficult and that says a lot. Jones has already started opening eyes around the MLC but her stock around SWMO is about to explode as a junior.
Jayleign Flood Clever
Clever has another duo that is going to cause problems in the Mid Lakes. Another junior Jayleign Flood is going to bring a physicality that is going to bring plenty of success throughout this season. Flood can defend both the post and on the perimeter at a high level. Flood also showed that she can get it done offensively as her jump shot improved throughout the camp.
Taylor Foster Branson
Taylor is a skilled big that flashed in competition. She was great at exploiting mismatches all camp. She is also smart about how she functions in the paint. As she uses a strong dropstep move and positions herself for success at the bucket. Branson has a legitimate post threat for the next two years.
Taylor Blehm Marion C. Early
Blehm probably raised her stock the most this weekend. The Lady Panther had a fantastic weekend finding the bottom of the net on all three levels. She is probably the best as a lethal force in the post but she proved that she has the range to step back and hit the three ball at a good clip. She possesses a plethora of go to moves in the paint and she has the ability to become elite in the small school scene. Look for Taylor
